Fully Supporting MBKM, UNPRI - BPJS Employment Officially Establish Cooperation
Implementation of Certified Internship
As an effort to produce competent graduates, highly competitive in the industry, and as proof of Universitas Prima Indonesia's consistency in implementing the Independent Learning Independent Campus (MBKM) program, UNPRI has again added partnership cooperation, namely with the Social Security Administering Agency (BPJS) Employment. BPJS Employment opens opportunities for Field Work Practices (PKL) or internships and Real Work Lectures (KKN) for UNPRI students. This opportunity is increasingly open with the collaboration between UNPRI and BPJS Ketenagakerjaan through the signing of the MoU which took place on Wednesday, February 23, 2023 at Seis Cafe & Public Space, Jalan Sei Silau 89c, Medan City.
The signing of this MoU is related to the realization of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education in education, research related to employment, especially through direct experience gained by students as prospective workers who are still studying at university. The internship program is one of the initial introduction steps for students before entering the world of work. In addition, internships are needed for students to add to the expected portfolio so that they can provide students with an overview of the real situation and world of work. Field Work Practices are also one of the self-assessment activities for students to be able to measure their abilities which are reflected in the results of the assessment during the internship process.
The parties attending the event from BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Medan Utara are:
1. Raden Harry Agung Cahya, as the head of the North Medan BPJS Ketenagaan branch office.
2. Evi Wirdaningsih, as the head of the North Medan BPJS Ketenagaan membership division.
3. Risniar Aritonang, as the special account representative for North Medan BPJS
While the representatives of the rectorate of Universitas Prima Indonesia are:
1. Dr. dr Ali Napiah Nasution, MKT, MKM, SpKKLP as the Vice Rector IV of UNPRI
2. Cooperation Bureau of Universitas Prima Indonesia
The Vice Rector IV of UNPRI stated that UNPRI fully supports the Social Security Protection Program for internship students.
"Therefore, with the establishment of cooperation between BPJamsostek and Universitas Prima Indonesia, we are committed to providing protection and comfort for interns who will be active wherever they work/intern," he said, Tuesday (3/21/2023).
On the same occasion, the Head of the North Medan BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Branch Office, Raden Harry Agung Cahya, explained that this Cooperation Agreement was carried out as a form of concern from BPJamsostek and Universitas Prima Indonesia in providing social protection for interns.
Later, interns will be registered for two BPJamsostek programs, namely Work Accident Insurance Protection (JKK) and Death Insurance (JKM).
"This Work Accident Insurance Program will provide protection to interns from leaving to returning and being active at the internship location or workplace, as well as providing death benefits at the time of work risks for active interns," explained Harry.
Harry also hopes that the synergy and cooperation that have been built well can be further improved in the future upcoming.
